ABOUT MELike so many Luxembourg musicians, I have started my musical career in the Luxembourg band scene. Inthemid-90s,IjoinedtheLuxembourgrockbandLifewireasakeyboarder.Atthispointmysongshadrare,ifany,classicalelements.Throughmygrowing fondnessforbandslikeQueenaswellassymphonic-metalbands,mypathledmemoreandmoreintotheclassicaldirection,onlytoendupatthe ConservatoiredeMusiqueinEsch/Alzette,whereItookmusicandpianolessons.Lifewirewasbusyintheyearstocome:anumberofgigs,bothin Luxembourgandabroad;andthereleaseofafirstCD(”Kivas”).WerepresentedLuxembourgattheEmergenza-FestivalinBarcelona(E),untilwefinallyhad thetremendousopportunitytorecordoursecondCD("BurninTears")attheMountainStudiosinMontreux(CH)withDavidRichards,theproducerof Queen,DavidBowie,MichaelJacksonandmanymore.ItwasagreathonortotakepartintheproductionandtoseeDavidatwork.NeedlesstosaythatI tooktheadvantagetowatchhiseverymove.Myfondestmemoryisbeingabletodothepianorecordings,whichIplayedonthesamegrandpianoFreddie MercuryplayedonvariousQueentracksafewdecadesbefore.ThehighlightwasaduetwiththecellistNathalieManserfor“Lamerveille”,asongstemming from an impromptu piano improvisation between two recordings and which therefore could not feature on the CD.ShortlyafterMontreuxin2002-2003,werecordedandproducedavideoclipatthecastleinNeuerburg(D)togetherwithdirectorPierHausemer,beforethe band members of Lifewire went their separate ways in 2003. Butthingswerefarfromover.Inspring2005anewline-upgavelifetoPaleObsession,abandwhichquicklydevelopedaslightlydifferentmusicalstyle.3 outofthe4tracksofourfirstCD“SongsofLoveandDeath”madeittotheLuxembourgCharts.Manyconcertsfollowedinnextfewyearstocome,bothin Luxembourgandabroad;weperformedamongstothersat“RockumKnuedler”,“RockamPark”,“TivoliRockFestival”inSwedenwiththeSwedishpower-metalbandSabaton.Wewerealsoveryfortunatetoopenforvariousbigacts,liketheDutchsymphonic-metalbandEpicaandtheGermanTokioHotel.In 2010-2011werecordedournextCD“MadeofGlass”.StefanHelleblad(gitarristwithWithinTemptation)cametoLuxembourgspecificallytorecordinour practice facilities. Afterusingtheselastyearsintensivelytoindependentlyspecializeinvariousareasofsoundandmixingtechniques,Istartedtoconcentratesolelyonfilm musicanditsvariousfacetsin2017.AsaresultIhavepublishedthisonthiswebsite;somethingIhadwishedforalongtime.WhileImanagedtorelease someproductionsin2018,Ihadtheopportunitytoexpandmyknowledgeinorchestrationandtotakecorrespondencecoursesinmixingandorchestral mixing.Afterthebigproject“DieEichenthron-Annalen”aswellastheremixofthetrack“Memories”havebeenreleased,Iamactually-amongother projects-intheprocessofcompletingtheAudioEngineer(Hofacollege)courses.February2021,Ihavewonajuryprizeformymixofarocktrackinthe HOFA Xmas Mix Contest. Out of 1250 participants, I have qualified under the top ten.Afterthemoretechnicalandgeneralaudioengineering-courses,anapprenticeshipinCinematicOrchestrationviaThinkSpaceEducationhasbeenplanned for 2021 and further mastering courses via the HOFA-college .
